Local Girl Explodes!

I admit that I am a bit of a modelizer. I have been following the career of Salt Lake's own Ali Stephens and now I just have to show that she has exploded recently in the fashion industry. Here are just a few of my favorites from Paris fashion week.

Alexande McQueen Fall 2008 RTW

Marni Fall 2008 RTW

Prada Fall 2008 RTW

Burberry Prorsum Fall 2008 RTW

For all of Ali's photos on style.com just click here. Also, I love talking fashion so if you want to comment on any of these shows of clothes please feel free.

Yes.

Just a note...

So I often take parking risks at my job. I mean risky for me which is not that risky. But I tend to park in hourly parking areas for many hours. Well, I finally thought I had gotten a ticket the other night. But instead....

It was actually just a note from Jesus. He was just saying, "hello friend" and just wanted to remind me that he loved me. The really great thing is that I already knew this but it was so nice to hear it again. It was late at night and I was the only car on the street and I wondered if all the cars got them or just me. I wish I knew.

Copy Cat (but I like this)

So I am copying this post idea from Jo who got it from Brooke who's sister said that their Aunt's cat thought it would be such a fun post.

1. Pick up the nearest book of 123 pages or more. No cheating.
2. Find page 123
3. Find the first 5 sentences
4. Post the next 3 sentences

Here goes:

"Of course there was only so much I could do as the special-needs assistant. One thing I could do was pray. I prayed while I looked into his eyes, and my prayer was Hello, hello, hello."

This is from No one belongs here more than you by Miranda July. It is a collection of short stories (of which I am a lover of). They are very strange and awkward and funny and a bit dirty to be honest. In fact I worry that page 123 is going to have me amidst a special-needs love affair. CAN' WAIT. While controversial to some I think she is incredibly talented. Go to her site and try not to love the opening page and then read why you should vote. So good. Also check out the site for the book. Clever. Also, Miranda I am in love with you.

Funny Games

I see a lot of films. Also, I will see just about anything. I will try not to write about every film I see on this blog because it would just turn into a movie review blog. If i see something worth talking about though I will definitely discuss. So I met some people the other night to see Funny Games. And I pretty much.... HATED IT.
Good acting but just painful. I felt like it was basically written to frustrate the viewer. There are some heated debates going on. Some think this is genious and others crap. I'm going to go with crap. Funny sidenote: we went to the tower and as we were walking in I saw the dvd to The Piano Teacher and pointed at it and proceeded to tell everyone how much I hated it. Turns out they are both directed by cute and cuddly Michael Haneke. I have always wanted to see the film Cache but now I just don't know because I am 0 for 2 with this sadistic dude. If you have seen any of these let me know what you thought. Ooh, the poster is so good though.

But Which Raven?

I just can't decide which Raven I like better. Both of these photos are so equally fascinating but very different emotionally. Would I rather hang with paranoid and wild Raven?

Or would I rather hang out with care free weekend bender Raven?

Either way nothin' but good times.

My Gem Dreams Came True!

Those of you who know me well were forced to watch a lot of Leslie Hall on my laptop shortly after Kathryn intoduced me to her magical world. Finally, i was able to see her on Friday night and it was amazingly hilarious. I really don't know what to say except that she is so genuinely funny. I was laughing so hard that I was turning into "that guy." You know the one that you wonder when the last time he got a good laugh was. I was obnoxious. So bask in the glory of this hot photo of us. Also, I hope that somebody got their stolen pitbull back. Stolen?

Also this video in the post below is a bit long but so funny and maybe more for those who have watched all the music videos and need to witness Leslie on the phone. There are a couple of moments that kill me. Her rolling the phone around in boredom and the way she says "star." If any of you are unfamiliar then justice must be served and you need to click on her name above and go to town.

The time has come my children...

Whew! Finally. I have started a blog. Get real excited. Many have often told me I should start one and for some reason the time is now. I have dabbled in blog-dom when I used to help Jo out with More Than Milk so hopefully I can get the hang of this again. I am a junkie of many things... Stories, films, photos, etc. This will be a place for me to share what I deem worthy. Warning: the word worthy refers to things both goody and baddy so prepare ye. Enjoy.
