Belgium?....YES!

So my sister and i got wild and are going to Belgium. I don't even know what to expect except amazement and inspiration at every turn. I have so many Belgians that I follow, adore and admire but I chose to put this little photo of Rene Magritte (one of my very favorite artists). I can't believe a month has slipped by without me posting anything. Here is to travel! If for nothing else it will make good blogging material. Oh, and dear Dries and Ann, your fall 2009 shows in Paris were amazing yesterday. I am coming to see your stores in Antwerp. Do you need someone to run errands for you? I would work for scraps. Love, Dirk.

Chills on the Dancefloor...

The really great thing about knowing someone with great music taste who gets jury duty is that they start to post a lot of stuff to your facebook page. Apparently the selection process is very boring but I was the recipient of some visual gems. 2 minutes and 48 seconds into this video I bust. So simple and beautiful. Also, her shoes are too good.

The band Keith is genius. This video kills me. But as I watched it something occured to me. It had a unique pace and angle that seemed familiar and then I read that it was directed by China Moo-Young. Did a little research off of a hunch and she had directed a short I saw at Sundance that has stuck with me for years. Just a quick but emotional story about a rather cool single dad who is struggling with his daughter getting older. Here is the preview for Juvenile. I really hope she is working on a full length feature because I want more!

Mens Fashion Week FW09...

So Mens Fall Fashion Week coincided with Sundance therefore I am way behind on checking out all the goods. So far it is pretty obvious that the word "recession" is officially in the air. Basics in neutral colors (mostly black) are coursing through the veins of menswear. That being said, it is still is looking pretty good to me. I immediately went to two of my favorites and yep, there are a few things I would gladly accept as gifts. First Dries Van Noten and secondly Christopher Bailey for Burberry Prorsum.

If anyone needs to know sizing for me just let me know. Also, is it wrong that I sort of really like that white tie on the last shirt? A little Amish chic never hurt anybody, right?

Pencil Face (sundance snippet)...

So Sundance Film Festival 2009 will be wrapping up tomorrow. It has been a wild week with many films and stories to come. For now, I just wanted to post this short film that I freaked out over. Pencil Face by Christian Simmons. Watch it below or if you are a bit of a visual snob like me you can go here and view it bigger and better and also watch many other terrific things. Enjoy.
