FALLready?...

Despite my ultra fair condition I couldn't be more ready for some warmer weather and a ray of sun. But in my favorite world the crisp fall ideas are just beginning. Here is just a sampling of what is catching my eye.

Aaaah September...

Been pouring over the September Issues lately. Something I look forward to every year. More to come on what I am drawn to this fall but for now just a few shots from this layout in US Vogue titled "Sweater Girl" featuring Lara Stone looking quite lovely. The tones in the bottom photo are especially nice. Now, if the weather could not be 86 degrees today I would be feeling much happier. How about a nice crisp 58 degrees?

New Marc?...

After reading Marc Jacobs grooming tips in the September 2010 issue of Details I am really missing old Marc Jacobs. I am so glad you are healthy and off all of the various addictive sauces. Also, I am glad you are into things that make you feel good. But really, between the AGONY of your hair replacement and the "having to be naked" for your new BANG! ad.... i don't know. Thank heaven you are still such a brilliant designer. Your Fall '10 show was so perfect (because you looked to your past).  Dear Marc, we only need one Tom Ford and most days we don't need him. Easy, boy. Easy. Love, Dirk.

Generally i like it...

I really liked the Marni Mens Spring '10 Show/Lookbook. It all seemed accessible, fresh and easily wearable. Also, in a strange way the accessories seem right. I mean "do it." Carry a wallet/clutch with your suit. Or get a tote packed with gold hardware. I also kept thinking of Beaker when I looked at the model with that long face and stance. Fits right in, no?

I liked it so much that I said to myself, "I don't remember Spring '09 being that great." But I am an idiot! Spring '09 was real real good. I dig the stick up on the side of the hair. Might try it. Also, the first model here gives me a stitch of comfort because him and i might have the whitest legs out there. Pale Pale Buddies.

Muggle Style...

Only 14 days left until all of our eyes get to witness the milestone that is going to be Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I can't wait. This amazing layout of Emma Watson aka Ms. Granger just made me even more excited. I am here to say it again... Teen Vogue is so hip. They have to work harder and I think it shows. So patience kids, just stare at that white Burberry dress in the bottom photo and whatever that killer pelt is and countdown the minutes until we get our fill of Inferi, Pensieves, Patronus' and some all out brawls!! People are going to die... i am not ready.

Needs... NOT wants...

Word to the wise: Don't buy a house. Because you have to spend money on stuff like this...

And then you realize you could have bought these...

Same price... yuck! Sadly, I believe the Dries Van Noten contrast oxfords would get me further in life. The box would fit in my sisters car more easily and ya, I would wear them in my backyard while I tried to kill the gopher/mole(s) that are messing with my grass and sanity.

Spring Is Here &...

Spring is officially here and I pretty much want everyone to look like this now. I know. I know. I never shut up about Christopher Bailey for Burberry Prorsum but get real with this collection. I've got the pale thing working for me but I just don't know how to get this thin without breaking the law. The plaid lining in the blazer towards the bottom... I'd take take a bullet for that tartan.

Mens Fashion Week FW09...

So Mens Fall Fashion Week coincided with Sundance therefore I am way behind on checking out all the goods. So far it is pretty obvious that the word "recession" is officially in the air. Basics in neutral colors (mostly black) are coursing through the veins of menswear. That being said, it is still is looking pretty good to me. I immediately went to two of my favorites and yep, there are a few things I would gladly accept as gifts. First Dries Van Noten and secondly Christopher Bailey for Burberry Prorsum.

If anyone needs to know sizing for me just let me know. Also, is it wrong that I sort of really like that white tie on the last shirt? A little Amish chic never hurt anybody, right?

Lula #7

Took a bit of time today and really got lost in the latest issue of Lula Magazine. This issue (and the magazine in general) is ridiculously good. From the paper grade to the color to the styling to the interviews it is just spot on. You should really check it out. That is if you can even find it. Salt Lake really needs a great mag shop. Dear B&N, it was seriously hard finding this mag. Good thing I am not afraid to dig. I found one copy on the last row of the middle shelf of "lifestyles" tucked behind some tattoo monthly...what?

There were two covers. I of course only had the choice of one and I got Audrey with the wild eyes up top. Given the choice, I would probably have bought that one anyway. I think redheads get a real bad rap sometimes and this cover is great. i do however think this Ali Michael cover below is stunning. Also, her layout is beautiful and interesting. These are just a few of the images from it.
