Genius' cheek to cheek...

I recently heard a terrible cover of this song... sad. It reminded me though, of how much I love this performance and the original song of course. Two of my favorite people in the music the industry tearing it up. The cheek to cheek ending is so intense.

The Presets...

So despite being at work late Maren and I busted it to see The Presets last saturday. After a stressful traffic experience we made it to the front of the stage during the third song into their set thanks to Jory and Jo saving some dance space. I was so excited when I heard they were coming back because it was one of the best live shows I saw last year. Despite their sound being too much for any small scale Salt Lake venue to handle (the sound blew twice) they were nothing short of amazing. You are so gross and then you just keep dancing because you are powerless. Here is the new video to "If I Know You." Strange and intriguing. Despite my hate of heat, if Diet Coke and Beef Jerky were involved, I would totally be down for a summer night bonfire dance party. Enjoy.

Apologies...

I knew the day would come to quickly when I would realize that I have not updated my blog for a bit and then I come to the shocking realization that it has been nearly a MONTH!! So sorry. At this point it would be difficult to catch you up on all things I am consumed with so I will just put two things here and then try and play catch up later.

First and most importantly...



Can I get a witness? This is not only two of my favorite things slapped together but one of the best magazine covers ever. I know that sounds extreme but I am not kidding. And in case you were wondering I have scrutinized a lot of magazine covers. I have skimmed the issue and can't wait to read it cover to cover.

Second. I went to MIA the other night and have since been even more fascinated by her entire thing. Her upbringing is wild and I am so interested in her music and message and style and the whole thing. So here is her video to Paper Planes. Incredible song and so worth the Ad Rock and Mike D cameo towards the end if you are a Beastie fan.

My Gem Dreams Came True!

Those of you who know me well were forced to watch a lot of Leslie Hall on my laptop shortly after Kathryn intoduced me to her magical world. Finally, i was able to see her on Friday night and it was amazingly hilarious. I really don't know what to say except that she is so genuinely funny. I was laughing so hard that I was turning into "that guy." You know the one that you wonder when the last time he got a good laugh was. I was obnoxious. So bask in the glory of this hot photo of us. Also, I hope that somebody got their stolen pitbull back. Stolen?

Also this video in the post below is a bit long but so funny and maybe more for those who have watched all the music videos and need to witness Leslie on the phone. There are a couple of moments that kill me. Her rolling the phone around in boredom and the way she says "star."
